The NYT Mini crossword, unlike its larger counterpart, is freely available on the New York Times website or app. However, accessing past puzzles requires an NYT Games subscription.
This quick daily puzzle is usually a breeze; I aim for sub-minute completion. Occasionally, though, a clue or two stumps me, forcing me to reveal the answer.
To prevent that, here are today's solutions (spoilers ahead!):
NYT Mini Crossword Solutions
Across
- Nibble : food :: ___ : drink - SIP
- Like a kid doodling in class, maybe - BORED
- Popular Disney show featuring an Australian cattle dog family - BLUEY
- Complete, as a puzzle - SOLVE
- Understand - SEE
Down
- Some leading orchestral performances - SOLOS
- "I win!" - IRULE
- Annoying sounds during a film - PEEVE
- Red Ryder BB gun ammunition - BBS
- Easter egg decorating essential - DYE
Today's puzzle was manageable, provided you knew a few key facts. Most parents familiar with children's television will recognize "Bluey"—its popularity is undeniable. Even my son, a non-viewer, adores Bluey merchandise! "Solos" and "peeve" proved slightly trickier. The Easter egg clue was fairly straightforward, with "dye" being the obvious choice.
