The NYT Mini crossword, unlike its larger counterpart, is freely available on the New York Times website and NYT Games app. However, accessing past puzzles requires an NYT Games subscription.
This daily puzzle provides a quick and enjoyable brain teaser, often solvable in under a minute. Occasionally, though, a clue or two might stump even the most seasoned solver.
To prevent those frustrating moments, here are the solutions (proceed with caution – spoilers ahead!):
NYT Mini Crossword Solutions
Across
- Elegant gathering – GALA
- Five-and-____ (discount store) – BELOW
- Lowest band on a pride flag – PURPLE
- Sleepwear, informally – JAMMIES
- Chore to "run" – ERRAND
- "Father of the Bride" actress – DIANE (Keaton)
- Car game – ISPY
Down
- Home of the automobile, aspirin, and accordion – GERMANY
- Mountain-related – ALPINE
- Laugh out loud (slang) – LOL'D
- Truly amazes – AWES
- Unjust reputation – BUM RAP
- 2024 Summer Olympics host city – PARIS
- George Lucas's peacekeepers – JEDI
This puzzle presented some relatively straightforward clues. The "Jedi" clue, for example, was particularly easy. Knowing there are only two prominent Keatons in Hollywood quickly eliminated one possibility. Even the pride flag clue was solvable through process of elimination based on letter count and rainbow colors.
