This episode was a welcome surprise, adding depth to the ongoing narrative. The setup for a clan battle against Ortega and Gaia of the Black Tri-Stars cleverly incorporates a surprising twist involving Pomeranian pilots.

While Challia Bull and his team continue their (relatively relaxed) search for the GQuuuuuuX, the episode explores the post-war lives of veteran pilots. Gaia and Ortega, struggling financially, resort to clan battles in their old Rick Doms, competing under the team name "Binarys."

The Rick Doms in this iteration feature a unique addition: a rear thruster "foot" used for high-thrust maneuvers – a cool design choice that deviates from the space-only, visually similar Rick Doms of the original Mobile Suit Gundam.

Gaia and Ortega execute their version of the Jet Stream Attack, but the battle unfolds unexpectedly. Machu arrives late after rescuing Nyaan, a refugee, from security guards (after a memorable kick to the groin). Xavier, believing Machu to be the GQuuuuuuX pilot, is baffled when the Gundam launches without her.

Nyaan has secretly taken Machu's place. Initially, the Omega Psychommu is inactive, leaving Nyaan vulnerable. This mirrors Sayla Mass's Gundam theft in the original series, but Nyaan subsequently activates her Newtype abilities, triggering the Omega Psychommu.

The ensuing battle is surprisingly dynamic, showcasing effective teamwork between Shuji and Nyaan, much to Machu's jealous dismay.

Although the series' overall backstory remains convoluted (a stark contrast to the more meticulously crafted Witch from Mercury), the characters and plot are finally delivering interesting and unexpected developments.
