First of all, when Season 17 launches, three additional heroes will arrive at Stadium: Junkrat, Sigma and Zenyatta. We’ll have to wait for the patch notes – or even the start of Season 17 itself – before we can fully understand their abilities and items. Let’s hope there are plenty of fun adjustments and enhancements to their powers.

Two maps from the main game are also heading to Stadium: a condensed version of the Esperan?a Push map featuring elevation changes, and the volcanic stage from Samoa. Both have been redesigned with the same sport-themed Stadium aesthetics seen in other maps within this mode.

Other New Stadium Features In Overwatch 2

Season 17 will also introduce two major new features to Stadium. Stadium Forge will let players design, store and share their hero builds, including loadouts for early- and late-game scenarios. You’ll be able to customize these setups for every hero available.

Custom games will also make their debut in Stadium during Season 17, which is exciting for multiple reasons. Up until now, the only ways to play Stadium were through standard ranked matches and training mode. With custom games, players will have the chance to practice Stadium gameplay. It will also allow you to experiment with rules and create wild new variations of the mode.

In addition, Stadium will undergo a rank reset when Season 17 begins, so it'll be time once again to climb the ranks. Drives will return alongside new All-Star rewards.

Season 17 marks the very first Stadium rank reset, giving everyone a clean slate to showcase their skill. Combine that with Drives to reward steady performance, Custom Games to tailor your own rules, and new All-Star rewards, and Stadium becomes a true proving ground for mastering the mode.
