Every resident in Disney Dreamlight Valley comes from a classic Disney or Pixar film, except for one—The Forgotten. This shadowy and introspective version of your younger self reflects the changes people go through as they grow.
Bringing The Forgotten into your village is simpler than you might expect, but it’s not something new players should attempt. If you're just getting started, this task might be too much, but experienced players will find it manageable. Here's everything you need to do to make The Forgotten an official villager in your Dreamlight Valley.
How To Unlock The Forgotten
To unlock The Forgotten, you must complete the entire main storyline including The Remembered quest. Additionally, finish both the Odds & Ends and Between Skull Rock And A Hard Place quests, which will open access to Skull Rock.
Beyond that, you'll also need to complete these specific quests for The Forgotten:
- The Magic In Everything Quest Walkthrough
- Acts Of Care Quest Walkthrough
- Poetic License Quest Walkthrough
Once those are done, you’ll receive a new quest called A Forgotten Name. During this mission, you’ll talk to The Forgotten and find a feather that leads to Skull Rock. Before entering, The Forgotten will ask you to choose a new name for them.
You can either pick from the preset names or create your own. Doing so will officially add The Forgotten as a villager in Dreamlight Valley, allowing you to begin building your friendship with them.
How To Unlock More Of The Forgotten's Friendship Quests
At this time, it appears that The Forgotten does not have any standard friendship quests after being unlocked. This may be because of the series of story quests required beforehand. However, there should be a level ten quest that unlocks their best friend reward, just like with other villagers.
How To Rename The Forgotten
The Forgotten offers a special feature—you can rename them at any time after they become a villager. Simply go to the Collections menu, choose Characters, then scroll down to the Dreamlight Valley section. You'll see the Forgotten's name with a pencil icon next to it.
Click on it to change their name to whatever you'd prefer (within acceptable limits). The change happens immediately, and you can rename them again later without any penalty. Since The Forgotten is still discovering who they are separate from you, changing their name a few times is perfectly fine.
The Forgotten's Friendship Rewards
As you increase your friendship level with The Forgotten, you'll unlock new rewards. These items are perfect for expressing your unique style, especially if you enjoy a darker aesthetic.
From furniture and design motifs to spendable Star Coins, there's plenty to collect. Here’s a full list:
