Jul 11, 2025 am 01:03 AM- A hands-on video of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 briefly appeared
- It showed off the larger cover screen on this model
- The Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7 should be launched on Wednesday
We've seen plenty of leaks surrounding the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 ahead of their official launch – which is set for next Wednesday, July 9 – and over the weekend, a hands-on video of the Z Flip 7 surfaced.
The video, originally shared by Mincu Andrei on X, didn’t stay online for long, but some screenshots were saved and published by SamMobile. If authentic, this marks the first time we’ve caught a glimpse of a fully functional Galaxy Z Flip 7 in action.
The standout feature shown is the upgraded cover screen. Earlier rumors had pointed to an increase in the outer display’s size to encompass the camera modules, and that appears to be exactly what’s visible in the leaked footage and images.
According to the leak, the cover screen has grown from 3.4 inches on the current Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 to 4.1 inches, with most of the added space seemingly used to display date and time details.
Thinner and faster
While it was still up, the hands-on clip also gave a look at some other rumored enhancements coming with the Galaxy Z Flip 7. The primary display is said to have increased from 6.7 inches to 6.9 inches, and is also expected to be thinner than its predecessor.
Unofficial renders of both the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 have already been spotted online, and they suggest that both models will see a slight reduction in thickness from front to back.
Beyond a boost in processor speed, not much else may be new with the Galaxy Z Flip 7. For instance, the camera setup is reportedly unchanged from the current version, though there could be a slightly larger battery included.
Samsung will officially unveil both the Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 on Wednesday, July 9, and you’ll be able to follow along live while checking out TechRadar’s full coverage. New wearables like the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 are also expected to debut alongside them.
