Star Wars: Legion Reveals New Starter Sets, Providing Even More Affordable Starting Point
Apr 01, 2025 am 09:46 AM"Star Wars: Legion" beginner's starter suit is coming!
The strategy board game "Star Wars: Legion" ushered in a new entry-level set, providing players with a more convenient gaming experience! The game, released in 2018, allows players to command armies from five factions of the Star Wars universe, covering two different eras in the game. Starting this year, Atomic Mass Games has begun redesigning core models for all four armies, using solid plastic materials and giving the model a more dynamic posture. Now, many of these models will be bundled in a brand new starter set that will be launched later this year.
The new starter set announced at the Adepticon show will cover four armies of Star Wars: Legion—Rebels, Empire, Separatist Alliance and the Galactic Republic. Each set contains over 35 different miniature models for as little as $95. The starter set contains about 600 units, accounting for about 60% of the units required for the standard 1000-point game. The Rebels and the Empire’s entry-level suit will be released this summer, followed by the Separatists and the Galaxy Republic’s suit.
"Star Wars: Legion" new entry set details
Each starter set contains over 35 models, each camp contains an iconic hero
Each new starter set contains everything you need to start playing Star Wars: Legion, including the movement tools, dice, various markers and unit cards you need during the game. While each starter set is different, they all contain a hero/commander, as well as basic and special forces required to form a different military base. The specific contents of each entry set are as follows:
Resistance Army | empire | The Galactic Republic | Separatist alliance |
---|---|---|---|
Luke Skywalker | Darth Vader | Obi-Wan Kenobi | General Griffles |
22 Resistance Soldiers | 22 stormtroopers | 22 clone soldiers | 30 B1 combat robots |
6 Wookie Warriors | 14 scouts | 7 ARC Commando | 2 short and chunky robots |
7 Resistance Commando | 7 ARF Commando | 6 B2 super combat robots |
Players need to choose the camp they want to join, as each army offers a different fighting style. The Rebels are good at occupying target points and possessing numerous heroes; the Empire has powerful units; the Separatists can form the largest army with a large number of combat robots; the Republic benefits from a large number of stackable gains. Every army has its pros and cons, but no army is strong enough to dominate the competition.
Our opinion: The Beginner Set is the best way to get into Star Wars: Legion
These new starter sets have perfect price points
Star Wars: Legion is a wonderful miniature game that offers a large selection of miniatures and options for its different military units. Although it has a smaller range than Warhammer 40K, it is also easier to get started due to its smaller army size.
Warhammer 40K Emperor's Son Army Box Review: Pleasant Chaos Ecstasy in the Box
The new Sons of the Emperor's Army box contains up to 26 miniatures, enough to form the basis of a dangerous new warhammer 40,000 army.
These new starter sets are perfect for beginners to beginners, especially with new revision rules combined with new materials that are easier to assemble. If you like Star Wars and are interested in entering the world of miniatures, Star Wars: Legion is definitely for you.
