PSA: You Can Change the Vibration Intensity on Your Galaxy S25

Feb 24, 2025 am 12:04 AM

The Samsung Galaxy S25 series phones have a rich customization feature, but did you know that you can adjust the vibration intensity of these three phones? The answer is yes!

The default tactile feedback intensity of Galaxy S25 is weak

The Galaxy S25 series released in January 2025 includes three phones: the basic Galaxy S25, the Galaxy S25 Plus with a larger screen and battery, and the Galaxy S25 Ultra with Samsung's best smartphone hardware.

The advantages of this series of phones include strong processing power, a multi-function camera system, and a comprehensive suite of GenAI functionality (even cross-application operations). However, haptic feedback, more specifically, vibration intensity, remains a disadvantage.

I got a Galaxy S25 Plus, and although everything else is good, haptic feedback is not its strongest. To verify this, I consulted several journalist friends, some of whom have OnePlus 13 or Pixel 9, and found that they felt the same way.

Hatonic feedback (or vibration) is not just about notifying you of new notifications in silent mode. By simulating physical touch, haptic feedback helps improve the overall user experience. The slight vibration of the device adds some vitality every time you unlock your smartphone, hold down an icon on the home screen, or type on the numeric keypad.

How to enhance vibration intensity

While the tactile feedback of the Galaxy S25 is too subtle when used out of the box, you can adjust it. By default, the system vibration intensity of the S25 series is set to slightly below 50% (so the haptic feedback is not obvious), but you can change it in the System Vibration menu. For this I had to reset my device to default settings, but it's worth a try.

Swipe down from the upper right corner to bring up the Quick Settings panel, and then click the gear icon in the upper right corner.

In the Settings app, click the Sound and Vibration option.

Scroll down and select "Vibration Strength".

You will see here that all other haptic feedback (such as calls, notifications, and media) is set to 100% except for system vibration. System vibration controls the intensity of general touch interaction, dialing keyboard, keyboard, navigation gestures, and camera feedback. Turn it up to the desired level (you can choose from five levels).

Now, press the Back Navigation button at the bottom of the screen to see if the haptic feedback has improved. I found the fourth level to be perfect, but you can set the vibration intensity of the system to the maximum.

If you want to disable haptic feedback for a specific category (such as touch interaction or dialing keyboard), go to the System Vibration menu and disable the switch next to the required options.

That's it. I can't emphasize how good it is to type on a touch screen keyboard with strong haptic feedback. The buzzing feeling at the fingertips enhances the connection to the device. But that doesn't mean you have to enhance haptic feedback; if you like the default settings, that's great.
