UPDATE: We have embedded an interactive map in this guide to help you with tracking down Bubbul Gems in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Of all the strange creatures in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, none are as mysterious as the Bubbulfrog. These glowing, wall-scaling monsters lurk inside hidden tunnels in caves, shooting bubbles at anyone brave enough to invade their space.
If you manage to land a direct hit on a Bubbulfrog, it will drop a valuable Bubbul Gem—a rare and sought-after item in Tears of the Kingdom.
Bubbul Gems can be exchanged for special items, but only if you know where to go!

What are Bubbul Gems used for in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom?
In Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Bubbul Gems are primarily used to trade for unique monster masks that prevent certain enemies from attacking Link. Additionally, they can be exchanged for rare monster parts, which serve various important functions.
These monster parts can be used with the Fuse ability to create powerful weapons. More importantly, many of them can be given to a Great Fairy to enhance your armor.
To begin trading Bubbul Gems, visit Woodland Stable located northeast of Lookout Landing. You can check our full list of Stable locations in Tears of the Kingdom if you're having trouble finding one.
Once there, head behind the Stable and look for a patched-up hot air balloon near the water (as shown above). There, you'll meet two brothers, Kilton and Koltin, who specialize in collecting monster materials.
Koltin is determined to transform himself into a mythical beast known as a satori. To make his dream come true, he believes he must consume large quantities of Bubbul Gems. Fortunately for Link, he's willing to trade these gems for useful rewards.
Give him one and he’ll hand over your first item—a Bokoblin Mask that lets Link walk among enemies without provoking them.
After the first gem isn’t enough, Koltin sends you out to gather more. You can trade additional gems to him at his traveling Balloon shop, which appears in different locations around Hyrule after dark.
Kilton will tell you to find Koltin in Tarrey Town, located in Akkala at the far northeast corner of the map, where he’ll give you further instructions.
