In Date Everything, you can date just about anything. But when does dating everything become a little too meta? Sure, dating your furniture and appliances is all fun and games. But things get strange when you have to play a game within the game in order to date the console itself.
That's exactly what happens with Luna. She is both the physical embodiment of your video game console and also a character within the very same game you're playing on that console. And since you keep forgetting to save your progress, it's no wonder she doesn't remember you. Here’s how to finally break the cycle and save Luna.
How To Meet Luna
Luna is one of the first Dateables you can meet in the game. Once you gain the ability to explore your house freely, you can awaken any Dateable object you choose. Luna, being your video game console, resides in only one specific room — the living room. She is located directly beneath your television and can be awakened by interacting with either the console, its controller, or the game cases.
However, instead of speaking directly to Luna after launching the game, you will find yourself inside another game called Moonsurgents: Resurgence. This is where you’ll actually meet her, and it’s the game you must complete in order to get an ending with her.
Every Step Of Luna's Game, Moonsurgents: Resurgence
Luna is stuck in a repeating loop, forcing you through the same mission repeatedly, each time revealing more information than before. It may take several attempts, even more so if you make errors along the way. Below are the exact number of runs required and how to eventually escape the loop.
Initial Meeting
During your first encounter with Luna, there's nothing you can do to change the outcome or progress further in the mission. This initial run serves as an introduction to the mission structure, giving you a chance to see what options are available.
Since your choices don’t affect the outcome yet, feel free to experiment. We suggest checking out the crafting menu and using stealth whenever possible to experience as much of the game as you can. After defeating Celestia, you'll receive an ending with Luna — abrupt, but still valid.
Learning Lingonberries
When you begin your second attempt at the mission, Luna acts as though you've never met before. In fact, she reappears in the Date-a-Dex like it’s your first interaction, with your relationship status reset. Because you either didn’t finish the mission or simply forgot to save, she has no memory of what transpired.
But you do. You can tell her this, and she’ll teach you the word 'Lingonberries'. This phrase helps her trust that you’ve met before, as there would be no other way for you to know it. For the rest of the mission, proceed normally, but try different paths to discover alternate outcomes.
Eventually, you'll face off against Celestia and Selene again, and you’ll have the opportunity to achieve a new ending with Luna.
Getting The Xeno Goggles And Recipe
On your third run, the mission resets once more, and Luna is reintroduced again. This time, make sure to say 'Lingonberries' immediately upon meeting her, and she’ll realize you’re caught in a time loop too. From then on, she allows you to take control.
To unlock new content, select any unfamiliar dialogue options. One of these leads to a shortcut into the base without detection, which grants you the Xeno Goggles. These goggles let you spot invisible enemies, though they reduce your combat performance. The mission proceeds as usual afterward.
Using The Harmonic Stratospire
As with previous loops, everything resets again, so you must remind Luna who you are by saying 'Lingonberries'. She'll ask how many times you've gone through this, and might appreciate honesty if it hasn’t been too many.
Like earlier, the mission plays out similarly to past runs. The Xeno Goggles aren't essential, but grab them for safety. This time, if you previously tried convincing Luna to wear them, you can now succeed, allowing you to eliminate hidden enemies and reach the base faster.
Once you arrive at the crafting table, be cautious. Here, you can craft the Harmonic Stratospire, though you won’t be prompted directly. You must recall the recipe and build it manually. If you mess up, you’ll have to wait until the next run. The correct ingredients are:
- Four Globules
- One Wood
- Two Scrouf Skins
The order isn’t crucial, but sticking to this sequence makes it easier to track. Even after combining all items, the Stratospire isn’t finished. You must decide when to stop crafting, so count carefully to avoid adding extra components accidentally.
With the Harmonic Stratospire assembled, you can finally end the loop. During the fight with Selene, Celestia turns against her and reveals that she, Selene, and Luna are all fragments of one person — Connie. Though there’s some uncertainty, all three moon-themed personas merge back into one: Connie.
At last, the mission concludes, and you receive your final ending with Connie.
How To Change Your Relationship Status With Luna
Although Luna/Connie has three endings like every other Dateable, hers function differently due to her unique nature. In a sense, they are actually much simpler.
Since she receives a new ending every time you complete her mission, and gets reintroduced with each new attempt, you can actually view all of her endings in one playthrough. There are just enough runs to see each ending once before you must finalize your choice.
If you opt for a Hate ending after saying 'Lingonberries', Luna might even joke that you chose it knowing she won’t remember.
At the end of each run, you can choose your desired ending regardless of prior decisions. The final run follows the same rule, but this one is permanent, so make sure you're certain about your decision.
