While you might believe that the Zelator Underground Facility is now behind us, Lies Of P: Overture has more in store. After passing through the icy mist, P must now face the challenges of The Elixir Research Zone.
Although this area is smaller than the previous one, it still presents several difficult encounters and holds valuable treasures. This guide will walk you through every part of the facility to ensure that when you finally meet the Two-Faced Overseer at the end, you won’t have missed a single item.
All Collectible Documents, Items, And Gear In The Elixir Research Zone
Below is a list of all items found within the Elixir Research Zone. Unlike the vast Zelator Facility before it, this section is more compact. However, there are still worthwhile finds including some important quest items and the highly sought-after Quartz.

The Elixir Research Zone Stargazer
After defeating Veronique, you can lower the massive frozen cylinder located in the center of the stage, which removes the mist from the beginning of the Zelator Underground. Now proceed forward and take the elevator up where you'll reunite with your tracker friend. He will hand over the Daylight-Wreathed Horn, an item worth remembering because it proves essential for the upcoming boss fight.
How To Access The Shortcut To The Two-Faced Overseer
At the spot where the projectile-throwing mutant was stationed, you’ll find a Dark Moon Moonstone Of The Covenant. Avoid engaging the mutants atop the cage for now. Instead, move to the opposite side of the room (staying on the beams), where you'll discover a Crescent Moonstone. From there, drop down into the area below and turn the corner. On your right, you’ll notice a large metal door. Opening it reveals a shortcut. Directly across from the shortcut lies the boss arena for the fight against the Two-Faced Overseer—ignore it for now.
We'll now tackle the many enemies scattered throughout this expansive room. Starting from the back of the room (near the shortcut), you’ll encounter two mutants and an Alchemist. Prioritize eliminating the Alchemist first to avoid being frozen by his gun, then deal with the mutants. Pick up the Miraculous Recovery Ampoule from the nearby table. On the other side of the bookshelves, you’ll find a scorpion-tailed mutant, and another directly across from them. Defeat both.
At the far end of the room, another scorpion-tailed mutant is present along with two slow-moving ones. An Iron Ball-Wielding miniboss also lurks nearby, but we’ll handle him shortly. Draw the attention of the two open-area mutants and pull them away from the miniboss. Once they’re dealt with, go ahead and collect the Half Moonstone from the nearby trolley. Proceed around the left side of the room and eliminate the remaining mutant. With the area cleared, lure the miniboss out into the open.
Strategy For Beating The Iron Ball-Wielding Mutant Miniboss
Feeling déjà vu? Indeed, he’s the same opponent you previously defeated in the Zelator Facility. The advantage here is having a much larger space to fight him in. Unless you didn’t clear all enemies beforehand—which you should do—his moveset remains largely the same, though he appears to have added one new move.
- A sequence of three lunging strikes ending with a powerful smash.
- An attack where he throws his iron ball at you from afar, followed by a horizontal swing and a downward slam in front of him.
- The new addition involves him launching his ball straight toward you. This fast long-range strike can catch you off guard and hits again as he reels it back in.
As done previously, aim to parry the final hit of the four-hit combo to create an opening for a fully charged counterattack. Regarding his ranged assaults, dodging with a roll is your best bet. Just make sure you roll sideways to avoid being struck when he pulls the ball back.
Defeating this enemy will reward you with a Quartz. You can now also open the safe in his cell to obtain the Genius Meister's Pocket Watch. With the entire room cleared, return up the ladder and cross to the left side of the room. Here, you’ll be positioned above two mutants and an Alchemist standing atop the cells. Drop down and attack one of the mutants below you, then quickly target the Alchemist. Once he’s eliminated, finish off the mutants, and secure the Radiant Ergo Chunk in the rear corner.
The only thing left now is to confront the Two-Faced Overseer. For a detailed breakdown of that battle, follow our dedicated guide below.
