Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army - Complete Episode One Guide
Jun 19, 2025 pm 06:04 PMAfter successfully completing the trial to earn the title of Raidou Kuzunoha the 14 in Raidou Remastered: The Mystery Of The Soulless Army, you'll begin the first chapter with a mission to rescue a kidnapped schoolgirl from the Dark Realm and investigate the curse hidden in the basement of Daidouji Manor.
Raidou’s initial journey into the Dark World is no small task, but it's also an ideal time to start capturing early-game demons, explore the Goumaden for the first time, and get familiar with the many side missions available throughout Raidou Remastered: The Mystery Of The Soulless Army.
Enter The Dark Realm
After completing the introductory tutorial that establishes your role as the new Raidou Kuzunoha in 1930s Tokyo, you’ll be encouraged to explore the local area and speak with townsfolk. Your two familiars, Alp and Ukobach, will prove useful here thanks to their Investigation Skills.
Once you’ve finished at the academy, head toward the Ushigome-Gaeri Bridge and speak with your colleague there about the case. You’ll need to use Ignite on him to uncover more details before heading off to Daidouji Manor. Take the streetcar to your destination.
Upon arrival, Raidou will meet several staff members who warn against entering certain rooms. However, you’ll learn how to send a demon to investigate solo using the menu system. Send Alp to the study on the first floor and have him search the shelves to find a photo that could help with the investigation.
Sending your familiars into unused rooms can reveal hidden items stored inside, so it’s always worth checking every opportunity for loot.
After this phase of the investigation, travel north to Kamishiro-zaka and talk to some schoolgirls at the crossroads about their missing friend using your Investigation Skills to guide the conversation.
They’ll mention Rin has been meeting someone lately, and when you go speak to Rin east of Fujiko Parlor down an alley and follow her to a secluded spot, she’ll be abducted and taken into the Dark Realm, prompting Raidou to pursue and save her.
Confining Demons And Grinding For Levels
Your first venture into the Dark Realm offers plenty to discover right away, and may feel overwhelming if you're new to the game. Near the entrance, however, there are several important locations to take note of:
These include:
- Dragon's Founts, which not only allow saving the game while inside the Dark Realm, but also grant access to the Goumaden once it becomes available after this section.
- Nakisawame, who provides free healing for Raidou and his party.
Once healed and saved, it's time to battle the demons roaming Dark Tsukudo-cho. Although Raidou starts with limited sealing tubes, these will increase as your level rises. Use the demons you've already captured to grind for EXP while exploring and collecting scattered loot (usually marked by a crystal icon on the map).
Keep in mind the barrier blocking entry near Tamonten Shrine, requiring you to go the long way around through the Karukogawa Shopping District.
There, you'll encounter a group of Obariyons who warn you of a powerful demon ahead. As you make your way toward the Narumi Detective Agency, they’ll attack, giving you the chance to learn Pyro Order to gain an advantage.
The Obariyons are weak to Cryo and Wind magic, so use appropriate familiars to defeat them quickly. After claiming your rewards, proceed forward carefully — another challenge awaits.
Nethergates, Explained
This marks your introduction to Nethergates, magical barriers that must be destroyed using specific elemental attacks. The first one encountered requires Volt Order magic, and the game suggests capturing an Agathion beforehand.
With electric attacks ready, engage the Nethergate and learn how to break elemental shields in combat. After defeating its guardians, prepare for a boss fight against Tsuchigumo.
This massive demon stands guard near the shrine barrier from earlier. Speak to it about Rin before initiating a dramatic boss battle that concludes your first trip to the Dark Realm.
Enter The Abyss In The Basement Of Daidouji Manor
Explore Tsukudo-cho And Register Your Devils
Now that you've returned to the real world, it's time to take advantage of newly unlocked features in Tsukudo-cho, including:
- The Goumaden, where you can fuse and register demons. Visit Kounno-ya and request to go to the basement, where Victor has just returned. Here, you can summon registered demons and begin experimenting with demon fusions.
- Case Files, optional puzzles that offer skill books, money, and EXP upon completion.
- Aril Rifts, found near Tamonten Shrine, where Gouto-Doji encourages regular clearing of rifts for real-world EXP grinding.
Once done, return to Daidouji Manor, speak to the staff again, and follow the left path on the first floor to locate a suspicious study. Use a demon with Investigate to discover a hidden switch granting access to the basement.
Big Tarrasque And The Other Side
Inside, you'll find Big Tarrasque, who requests a specific type of wine. Inquiry upstairs reveals that a staff member was sent to fetch it but hasn't returned yet. Head back to Kamishiro-zaka and read the maid’s thoughts to uncover what’s going on. She’ll hand over the wine.
Return to Daidouji Manor and descend into the basement again, but be prepared for a challenging fight against Big Tarrasque. Using Pyro Order demons will give you an edge, but it's still a tough battle unless you’ve grinded for levels outside his area.
After defeating him, Big Tarrasque will ask for some Pricey Beer, located in one of the second-floor guest rooms. Return with the drink and he’ll transport you to the other side of the map.
Bring demons with the Fly ability to reach crystals on elevated platforms in this part of the basement.
Once across, inspect the bookshelf in the cage to find Kaya's Diary, revealing secrets about the Daidouji family curse. Then return to the living room to discuss the diary with Kiyoshi.
Along the way, you’ll face the former doll-like demons guarding the cell, where Gashadokuro will appear and challenge you to another intense battle. Learn to jump to dodge attacks, a crucial technique for surviving this fight.
Afterward, return to the living room and speak with Kiyoshi to finally resolve the mystery behind the first case in Raidou Remastered: The Mystery Of The Soulless Army.
