Elden Ring Nightreign currently features four distinct Shifting Earth events for players to explore, each offering unique map transformations along with their own objectives and rewards. However, once you’ve experienced all of them, you might notice that these events don’t tend to return on their own.
Although they can occasionally reappear if you join a session with someone who has one active, there was previously no way to manually trigger these events again — until the arrival of the Everdark Sovereign game mode.
Here’s how to trigger Shifting Earth events in Elden Ring Nightreign.

How to trigger Shifting Earth events in Elden Ring Nightreign
At present, there are four Shifting Earth events available in Elden Ring Nightreign: the Crater, the Mountaintops, the Rotted Woods, and Noklateo, Shrouded City.
Initially, these events become accessible as you defeat the Nightlords. But once you've cleared out all the bosses, you may find that these events rarely show up again.
To reactivate a Shifting Earth event, you must participate in Nightreign’s Everdark Sovereign mode. This new mode introduces a stronger variant of a Nightlord, which changes weekly. You can access this mode from the matchmaking menu, located at the center of the Hold.
At the time of writing, the Everdark Sovereign is Gaping Jaws, though this will rotate after a week and continue changing every week thereafter. It's important to note that the Sovereign Nightlord is only accessible to players who have already defeated his original version.
To retrigger a Shifting Earth event, you must complete an Expedition by defeating an Everdark Sovereign boss. Upon victory, you’ll earn a new currency called Sovereign Sigils, which allows you to bring back any of the Shifting Earth events.
Once you've collected enough Sigils, head to the ‘Collector Signboard’ — a new feature accessible through the list of locations on your map. Interact with the large shield-shaped signboard here to spend your Sigils and summon a Shifting Earth event whenever you desire.
In addition to triggering map events, Sovereign Sigils can also be used to obtain new Urns and Chalices, unlock fresh Relics, or purchase skins for your Nightfarers instead of using Murk, should you prefer.
Moreover, the Collector Signboard gives you the ability to adjust the lighting in the Hold. By choosing the ‘Alter Great Site of Grace’ option, you can revert the Hold to its original illuminated state, reminiscent of before you unlocked the final boss, the Night Aspect.
Lastly, players who defeat an Everdark Sovereign boss for the first time will receive a larger amount of Sovereign Sigils. Subsequent attempts yield fewer rewards.
