Neptilius is an impressive and formidable Pal, excelling both in combat and at your base. Its partner ability also makes traversing the ocean much more efficient. However, before you can enjoy its benefits, you must first defeat it in battle, which is no easy task.

Where To Find Neptilius

You can find Neptilius on the Isle of the Glacial Core. This location sits at coordinates 139, 651, northeast of the Tower of Pal Genetic Research Unit and northwest of the Duneshelter. You’ll easily recognize this area due to the massive Pal statue standing there.

Once you arrive, interact with the Sealed Realm of the Glacial Core on the ground to trigger the boss fight against Neptilius. This action will transport you directly to the arena where the battle will take place.

How To Fight And Catch Neptilius

Neptilius is a level 60 Water-type Pal that is vulnerable to Electric-type attacks. If you plan to capture it, make sure you have several Ultimate Spheres ready. It has 5,453 HP and heavy armor, so you'll want to bring your strongest weapons. A Plasma Rifle can also be effective for quickly reducing its health.

Most of its attacks cover large areas but are relatively slow, so you can avoid them by constantly moving and not staying still for long. Any Electric-type Pals at level 60 or higher can provide valuable support during this fight.

Once its HP drops to around 1,000, begin throwing Ultimate Spheres to try and capture it. Upon defeating Neptilius, you’ll receive the Neptilius Bounty Token, one Ancient Technology Point, nine Ancient Civilization Parts, 30 Pure Quartz, 15 Polymer, and 15 Carbon Fiber.

Neptilius Partner Skill And Work Suitability

Neptilius' Partner Skill, Sentinel of the Great Sea, allows you to swim across any water body. It swims faster than most other swimming-capable Pals, but to ride it, you must craft the Neptilius Saddle, which becomes available in the Technology menu at Level 63. The following materials are required:

• 30x Leather
• 50x Dark Fragment
• 30x Meteorite Fragment
• 200x Paldium Fragment

Once you've crafted the saddle, Neptilius will assist you in battle by launching follow-up water spear attacks against enemies.

Neptilius also possesses a level four watering skill, making it extremely useful at your base for efficiently handling any watering tasks. It’s especially helpful if your base includes a crusher to convert stones into Paldium Fragments.
