Raidou Remastered: The Mystery Of The Soulless Army - What Is The Training Hall?
Jun 20, 2025 pm 06:03 PMRaidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army offers a variety of ways to gain experience—battling demons that appear as you explore the Dark Realm to advance the story, opting to return for more combat, and more—but one of the most effective ways to grind is at the Training Hall.
You'll unlock access to the Training Hall in Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army after a few chapters into the story. This location not only allows you to farm EXP between missions, but also serves as a hub for discovering strong new demons and valuable collectibles.
Where Can You Find The Training Hall?
Nameless Shrine Training Hall Entrance
The Training Hall in Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army doesn't become available immediately, so don’t expect to jump in early and power up for the first few chapters. Access is granted by the Herald of Yatagarasu at the start of Episode Four, and if you haven't visited yet, you’ll be required to go there for the first time during Episode Five.
To enter the Training Hall initially, head to the Nameless Shrine in Shinoda via the express streetcar, then interact with the fountain located in front of the shrine, just to the right of the staircase past the right inari statue. Activating this fountain will transport you down into the Training Hall, an optional labyrinth that provides a progressively challenging environment to farm EXP when you feel underprepared for upcoming battles.
Entering from the Nameless Shrine drops you onto floor B1, where you’ll find yourself in a square area filled with demons, centered around a large central elevator pillar. If you imagine the map divided into a three-by-three grid like a tic-tac-toe board, the elevator occupies the center square, with ample space to roam the outer sections hunting for enemies.
In total, there are ten floors in the Training Hall, which generally correspond to Raidou's current level. If you attempt to descend too far beyond your level, a mysterious voice will stop you. As a general rule, you can estimate a suitable floor by moving down one floor for every ten levels you've achieved. For example, players at level 35 should try B3, while those at level 45 would be better off on B4.
Other Training Hall Entrances Once you’ve gained the ability to travel across water following a negotiation with Big Tarrasque in Episode Five, you'll be able to access previously unreachable blue dots on your overworld map. Using the Flute of Rhone, Raidou can summon Big Tarrasque whenever he reaches one of these blue ports. Riding him allows you to discover:
- Training Hall East
- Training Hall South
- Training Hall West
However, these areas require more combat experience than you may have at this point in Episode Five, so it's wise to return once you’ve leveled up and unlocked them for easier access via the express streetcar later.
Farm Experience In Combat Or Quick Battles
If you're familiar with Shin Megami Tensei games, you know about areas populated with demons that periodically spawn, giving Raidou opportunities to engage in combat and farm experience. There’s nothing wrong with fighting demons encountered during story progression in the Dark Realm—they’re usually appropriate for your current level and useful for fusion—but for serious leveling, the Training Hall is always open.
Much like how your level should align with the floor you're exploring, demons become stronger the deeper you go into the Training Hall in Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army. They'll generally match the level expected for that floor, so if you want a balanced challenge, choose the floor corresponding to your current level.
When evenly matched, Raidou enters normal combat, allowing you to gain experience and practice new techniques before applying them to the main story. If you recently fused a demon or learned a new skill through Sword Alchemy, the Training Hall is ideal for refining strategies without wasting time in the main plot. With so much EXP, loot, and yen on the line, entering battle manually is the best way to maximize EXP per fight.
That said, there's still value in going up a floor to quick-battle weaker demons to farm experience, especially if you're patient enough to summon your strongest familiar to accompany Raidou through the basement floors and patrol the halls. If your demon significantly outclasses the enemy, it can instantly defeat them.
The game won’t force you into battle—it simply rewards materials, yen, and experience points automatically. While this method gives less EXP than fighting evenly-matched foes, it's faster than manually initiating fights and grinding group after group of demons.
Confine New Demons And Collect Priceless Loot
While exploring the Dark Realm, you've likely seen large crystals appearing in certain areas, which you can interact with to receive rewards such as healing items, incense, yen, and more. When entering a new basement floor in the Training Hall, make sure to check each crystal, as they often contain free items to help you in combat.
Some items are only accessible when you're on solo investigations using your devil familiar, marked as red gems instead of silver ones. Send your summoned shikigami to retrieve the loot!
If you missed any demons during previous story missions in the Dark Realm, many can be found here in the Training Hall. You can confine them normally, but you’ll also encounter several demons that must be defeated before they can be fused. Although some are bosses or mini-bosses from the main story, others cannot be fused until you’ve beaten them, even if you possess the correct fusion recipe.
Additionally, you've probably heard talk of the missing mahjong set from conversations with Capital residents (or demons in the Dark Realm). The legendary set has been split into four groups of mahjong tiles, and Raidou unlocks new Case Files throughout the game to locate each piece.
All of these pieces can be found in the Training Hall in Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army, though naturally, you'll need to fight for them, with optional Case File missions unlocking over time to reunite the set. Be ready for some tough fights, though!
