You can only become a Fairy if you have the Enchanted by Nature DLC, so if you're trying to grow wings without it you’re out of luck in Sims 4. That being said, if you do have Enchanted by Nature, there are a couple of ways you can give your Sim a little magic.

How to become a Fairy in Sims 4

There are multiple ways you can become a Fairy in the Sims 4, but to do any of them you must own and have installed the Enchanted by Nature DLC. Once you've got this, you can make your Sim a Fairy by using a Fairy Seedling or in Create-a-Sim.

The method you choose will entirely depend on if you're attached to your current household Sims or not. We'd say that using Create-a-Sim is a slightly easier way of making your Sim a Fairy, but the hunt for Fairy Seedlings in-game is pretty fun.

How to get Fairy Seedlings in Sims 4

You can transform an existing Sim into a Fairy by using a Fairy Seedling, but the first (and arguably most time consuming) part of this is actually finding one! Also, if you've already got a Fairy Seedling you won't be able to obtain another and all options to get one will be greyed out until you use up the one you've got.

There are a few different ways to get a Fairy Seedling:

• Ask a Fairy
• Forage for one
• Order online!

Ask a Fairy

You can find Fairy Seedlings by asking a Fairy Sim for them when it appears as a conversation topic. We chose the 'How do you become a Fairy?' question when it appeared and we were given a Fairy Seedling. You can also choose the 'Ask for a Fairy Seedling' option if that appears.

If you're struggling to find a Fairy Sim, head to Innisgreen as the area is full of them and, if you notice that the conversation option isn't appearing, it's a good indicator you're not talking to a Fairy!

Forage for one

You can also forage for Fairy Seedlings but you're not guaranteed to find one this way as foraging can give you a lot of different items. All of them will be useful in some way, and you might be lucky enough to get a Fairy Seedling. We recommend sticking to Innisgreen if you want to have a good chance at finding one.

Order online!

If in doubt, order it! That's right, you can simply pay out $379 Simoleons to order a Fairy Seedling online. To do this, head to your computer, select the 'Order' option and then navigate to the 'Purchase Fairy Seedling' option. Once you’ve paid for it, it will instantly be delivered to your inventory! This is the easiest (but most expensive) way of getting a Fairy Seedling.

How to use Fairy Seedling in Sims 4

To use a Fairy Seedling to become a Fairy in the Sims 4 you need to plant the seedling in your garden like you would any other seed. This will work on planter boxes and pots too, so even apartment-bound Sims can join in on the fun!

You'll get a notification that will let you know that your Sim is calling on Mother Nature and that she will give your Sim a limited-time charm to complete the transformation. Once you confirm you want to proceed, your Sim will plant the seed and you now need to get ready.

After the plant sprouts, Mother Nature herself will appear and give your Sim a potion that will apply the 'Into the Fold' moodlet to them for 24 in-game hours only. While this moodlet is active, you need to get moving to Innesgreen (if you're not already there) and find Moondrop Springs.

Moondrop Springs can be found in Everdew in Innesgreen in the Sims 4. Head to Starsong Lounge and then stand outside the front of it. Zoom out and look north-east, you should see a pond here with a rainbow at the back of it. This is Moondrop Springs.

Once you find the pond, head over to it and interact with it. As soon as you do this, you should see the 'Become a Fairy' option appear on your screen. Select this and your Sim will now transform into a Fairy.

How to make a Fairy in Create-a-Sim in Sims 4

You can make a Sim a Fairy in Create-a-Sim when you're creating a new Sim or new household. To do this, the first thing you need to do interact with the 'Select Occult' option and then choose 'Fairy'.

Then, your Sim will become a Fairy and you should notice there's a second icon of them in the bottom left corner of your screen. Hover over the second picture and it should say 'SIM NAME Fairy Form'.

Above this picture should also be a link icon - now this is important. If the link is connected, it means any changes you make to your Sim's Fairy form will be applied to their human form too - for example if you change the Fairy hair then the human hair will be the same. If, like us, you want to keep the Fairy form's looks and details separate from the human side you need to click the link icon so it becomes 'disconnected'. This will keep the two forms seperate. Click the link again to 'connect' it and link the forms.

Now, you can freely edit your Fairy Sim by selecting their Fairy form picture!

Also, if you want that extra Fairy-fun added to your Sim, you can give them the Fairy aspiration too.

How to customise Fairy Wings in Sims 4

To customise your Sim's Fairy Wings in Sims 4 you need to be in Create-a-Sim. You can access this through interacting with a wardrobe or mirror too. One you're in the customisation menu, select your Wings by clicking on them to bring up a selection of Wings shapes, patterns and colours. Look through these and select them like you would any normal piece of clothing.

You can go further though, by highlighting the 'Wing Paint Mode' beneath the 'Shoes' option you will be given almost complete free reign to paint your wings! There are multiple different brush shapes, sizes, patterns and colour choices for you to really give them that personal touch.
