The Sims 4: Enchanted By Nature introduces a new skill, apothecary. This is used to cure ailments which are short-term conditions your Sims can catch from others, or be given by mischievous fairies. It can also be used to create draughts which change your Sims' moods and affect things such as gathering or skill building.

This ten-level skill uses a range of different plants, herbs, and fruits, as well as some unique items to create the concoctions. Most of these items can be found through foraging and some can be purchased. Here we take a look at all the items you'll be able to craft, the skill level required and the effect they have on Sims.

What You Need To Level The Apothecary Skill

To begin, you'll need an apothecary table. This costs just $100 and is functional off-the grid. There's also one in The GROM Exhibit museum in the Coast of Adhmor neighborhood, and another in Everdew near the fairy hub.

For your early concoctions, you'll be able to buy the basic ingredients directly from the table. After this, the easiest way to get items is by foraging, which is completely free.

Foraging is random, but as soon as you hit level two of the apothecary skill, you can forage specifically for apothecary items, reducing your chances of finding things you can't use. However, there's still a random element to foraging, so if you get overloaded with items like aura petals and acorns, you may also want to forage specifically for plants.

The Apothecary skill can also be leveled with a set of three books, as well as by choosing the Study Apothecary Cures option on the table. As with other skills, the books have a cost which increases the higher the volume. Reading them builds skill at a reasonable rate but a little slower than crafting. Studying at the table is a free action, although it builds skill at a slower rate than all other methods.

How To Get Emotion Potions

Emotion potions can be acquired in the following ways:

• Harvest A Wild Moody Shrub - You can find one in Everdew just west of the lounge, by the pink tree. You can also buy a moody shrub seed from Clover's Seeds and Supplies in Sprucederry Grove for $450.
• Go Into Moondrop Springs - Here you can bask in emotions, bottle emotions, and can also ask the spring to change its emotional state once per day.
• Craft an Emotion Stone - This requires level six apothecary skill. Once it is in your inventory, you can select Apothecary > Bottle Emotion from the social menu and bottle Sim's emotions.

Apothecary Skill Levels

Here's what you can make at each level of the Apothecary skill, as well as details of other interactions and items unlocked at each stage.

Level One

Level one allows you to use the Study Apothecary Cures interaction at any apothecary table, and to read Apothecary Vol 1: A Spoonful of Sugar, which costs $75 to purchase. You can also buy basic ingredients at the table.

Level Four

Level Five

While crafting you'll likely have noticed some debuffs due to bad smells. At level five you'll be more resistant to these and they'll occur less. You can also now purchase the Apothecarist's Tabletop Organizer for $110. You'll find it in the misc decorations section of build buy mode. Additional potions available at this level are:

Level Six

Level Seven
